Chinese Immersion Forum

The Confucius Institute at the Michigan State University (CI-MSU) and the Chinese Early Language and Immersion Network (CELIN) at the Asia Society collaborate to offer the Chinese Immersion forum. 

Our aim is to bring together educators at school, district, state, and national levels; teacher developers; policy makers; community members; and researchers to hear about and share strategies and successes, seek advice in addressing challenges, and network with and learn from each other.

Travel Information

Hotel: We recommend the Candlewood Suites Hotel-Lansing which is right next to the Henry Center where the WTC will be held. We blocked 15 studio rooms each night for Sunday (8/12) and Monday (8/13) at the rate of $94 per night plus tax. The hotel cutoff date is 7/27/18 and it is on a first come first serve base. Please make your own reservation and mention Confucius Institute at MSU for the discounted rate. Airport: The closest airport is Lansing Capital Region International Airport (LAN). It is about 12 miles (one way) from the airport to Henry Center and Candlewood Hotel. Alternatively, you can fly to Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) and take Michigan Flyer bus (about 2 hours one way) to East Lansing.
