About Course Instruction
The Teacher Education (TE) 300, 400, and 800 level courses are an essential part of the Secondary Teacher Preparation Program. These courses help preservice teachers in developing content knowledge and strategies for teaching core subjects in the secondary classroom. Course instructors for these courses support the preservice teachers and interns in developing standards-based practices in planning, teaching and assessment, and in becoming a successful and functioning member of the teaching profession. The course requirements for course instructors are largely determined by the Subject Area Leaders in the Secondary Teacher Preparation Program. Each leader, together with their course instructor team, create and shape the course curriculum. See below for more information about the Subject Area Leaders. There is also common syllabus content which needs to be included in all of the TE 300, 400, and 800 level courses.
